Prices:

Prices shown are calculated from the time you collect the vehicle to the same time you return it. Rental rates which extend across two seasons are calculated in accordance with the respective daily rate per season. Taxes are included in the price.

We reserve the right to refuse to honor any incorrect Internet prices as we cannot account for the occasional human error.

Prices include:

Unlimited mileage in Portugal, comprehensive collision insurance, VAT and all taxes.

There are no hidden costs for necessary "extras".

Baby seats or Booster Seats: 15 € per rental contract.

One way rentals are free except if the rental period is under 3 days, otherwise we will charge 25€.

Additional driver: 10€ per contract and per additional driver.

Young Drivers (21-25 years old): 25€

Charges and deposit are paid online or at the airport. You do not need to send credit card details.

Driving to Spain: requires a green card and a bail bond issued by our insurers. The cost is 30€ valid for the length of your rental period, please request it in advance.

Accidents & Claims:

If you're involved in an accident, theft or any other situation resulting in an insurance claim it is your responsibility to get a police report number. You must contact the police who will then issue you a report number which you must then send to Auto Rent Lda. Without this report number the insurance company will not pay damages incurred. This is a simple procedure but if you have any problems you are welcome to call the company and request assistance. If there is loss or damage to the vehicle and you do not obtain a police report you will remain liable for all loss or damage incurred. The vehicle documents contain complete company details.

Deposit:

We do not charge the reservations deposit over the Internet.

We charge a refundable deposit of 50 EUR. per contract against the return of the vehicle with petrol and on time.

You may leave a signed blank credit card slip as a deposit.

Excess Insurance:

The insurance policy has an excess clause. See the price table for the applicable excess band.

You may waiver the excess clause on payment of an additional premium or secure it with the deposit of credit card details.

* SCDW: Excess Waiver Extension - Voids the excess (for H1, L1 and I3 reduces the excess to 150€).

The waiver does not include damage to tyres, windows, locks or damage caused by speeding.

Under Portuguese law insurance is void when DUI.

Collecting your car:

When you arrive at Faro airport you should make your way to the our desk located in the arrivals section. Your vehicle will be waiting in our car park directly outside of the arrivals area in Park 4 - Row G. You are not taken by bus to a garage.

Our staff will complete your contract at the airport and then show you to your vehicle.

25€ extra will be charged for late night deliveries (21:00 to 08:00).

A vehicle may be delivered to your place of accommodation at no extra charge.

Delivery times will be as close as possible to the time requested subject to staff availability.

You will be given a toll free number that can be used to contact our head office.

One Way Rentals:

One way rentals are free of charge within the Algarve region. Rental periods of 2 days or less will be charged 25€ extra.

Returning your vehicle:

When you return to Faro airport you should return your vehicle to the car park and then check it in with the rep.

Please allow adequate time for the hand-in. You are responsible for the car until it is checked in.

Hotel vehicle deliveries:

The collection details will be arranged with the rep when the car is delivered to you.

Vehicle Types:

We most often have the vehicle that you request but due to damage and late returns we may occasionally have to offer you an alternative vehicle, comparable to the vehicle requested.

The vehicles shown are available at our Internet rates, others may be arranged from companies within our network.

Car Age:

We provide clean and serviceable vehicles.

Vehicles are replaced on the basis of condition and not age, the majority of our vehicles are less than 3 years old.

Driver Age:

We apologize but drivers under the age of 21 cannot hire vehicles with Auto Rent Lda.

Drivers between the ages of 21 and 25 are subject to pay an extra charge of 25€.

Baby Seats:

Standard baby seats appropriate for children 3 years of age or younger and booster seats for children from the age of 5.

Baby or Booster Seats cost 15€ per rental contract.

The Company:

Your contract is celebrated with AUTO RENT LDA. in Portugal.

Full contact details are stated in your contract at the beginning of the rental period.

There is a toll free number that can be used to contact the office whilst in Portugal.

The reception staff speak English & Portuguese.
